what IS a filtering system anyway?



A filter is basically a program that accepts, rejects, reroutes,

etc. mail messages. The program essentially looks for key

words or phrases in the mail message and then follows the

instructions as to what to do with the message. Email addresses and

the wording of error messages are examples of the types of

key words or phrases.
