With all the fun with the NY Times motto, no one has a nickname for the

paper itself?



The Mad Magazine reference jogged my worthless memory and caused me to

remember a cartoon in Mad Magazine from say 30 years ago in which some

long-winded upper-middle-class types were discussing the relative worth of

various Sunday newspapers. As the conversation wore on, it became obvious

that the people were not discussing the intellectual merits of the

newspapers but the merits of the newspapers as paper for dog elimination.
