OK, I'll be the first to claim my roots as from upstate NY. A native of

Utica (until I escaped, a few years ago), I usually tell people that I

grew up "upstate" rather than try to explain where my relatively

small town is located.



For the record, I always felt that Utica was well into upstate NY.
