I just realized this morning that it has been a good ten years since I

heard an announcer use the pronunciation /mIzrIz/ for "Mrs." But I no

longer listen to the obituary reports on Milledgeville radio and have not

attended a homecoming football game where the mothers of the homecoming

court are introduced and handed flowers.



Is /mIzrIz/ hanging on out there?
