Subject: Re: statements spoken as if it were a question

Am I missing something, not knowing much about Southern speech?

Using a rising tone at the end of a sentence to make a question is a very

common form of question in English at large.

You're going?

It's at three o'clock?

He's going when?

I think doing this shows surprise to some information or adds emphasis, but

I can't see where it is especially Southern or characteristic of female

speech.
