I think two different things are being talked about here. One is the

skreet pronunciation which I have heard in my elementary age black

students. And the other is the shtreet pronunciation with which I am

not familiar.



I have noticed a few people in southwestern Arkansas say Sreveport for

Shreveport when talking about the city in Louisiana. I thought that was just

my one neighbor but others have mentioned it too.
