Subject: Re: election words

Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can start looking for information on words or phrases

that (may have) started or at least become more popular during elections, particularly U. S.

presidential elections? (Like the "okay" thing, for example.)

I have kinda limited reference resources here. . . References, or just examples in general would

be appreciated.

At a most basic level, you could try looking in a book about political

language, such as Safire's _Safire's New Political Dictionary_ (full

disclosure: Random House book). No doubt many of the terms in there

were popularized during elections. This'll only concentrate on actual

political stuff--OK isn't in there, for example--but it's a place to

start. No doubt someone else will have better ideas.
