Yes definitely in central Illinois playdate has been around for a while. It

was a nice way for mothers and babies to get together. My baby is 19 and in

college and the term was used when he was a baby.

And I had nine friends in 1983 who had babies within about four months. We

had a baby group for a long time when mothers and babies would get together.

And then we would make individual playdates for just two moms and their

babies. In no way was it a chance to drop off your baby somewhere. The moms

enjoyed the playdate possibly more than the babies!

Here this had nothing to do with preschool but rather two babies-two moms.
