Subject: "klicks": further questions

I thought the use of "klick" for kilometer was confined to the US military

and to science fiction stories.

I've always associated it with NASA and sf, the latter presumably from

the former -- and, I suppose, the former could be from the military. But I

think I've also heard it as a measure of speed = kilometers/second.

Confirm? Deny?

While we're on the subject, let's start a religious war ;-)\ : is the stress in

"kilometer" on the LOM, or on the KIL (with 2ndary on ME.... no, don't KIL

ME!)
