Railroad daisies are yellow wildflowers with brown centers.
(I'm a native of the New Orleans area, but I have never heard the term
there. My mother's family is from a small town called Plaquemine, near
Baton Rouge, and people in her family often use it.)
We've come across two instances of the term "railroad daisy," both from
Louisiana. It's used in reference to troublesome weeds and to roadside
flowers. Is anyone else familiar with it? Can you identify it more
specifically?
Thanks--
Joan
