Subject: Blendings in Festival Names



Here in Central Texas it is the time of festivals. These festivals recently

have been given catchy names. In September, here in San Marcos, we have a

Chilympiad. In Flatonia, a little town between here and Houston off I-10,

this weekend there will be a Czhilispiel. This town was settled by Czechs

and Germans. In nearby Shiner, home of the Spoetzl brewery and its Shiner

Boc, last weekend there was a Boctober Fest. Are others of you hearing of

such blendings in names of such events or is this just a local

"infectuation"?
