When a dictionary or any other text is discussed or dissed, it should, of

course, be read first--as Greg Downing says. But it is a bit-one-sided to

declare there is "a whole array [cloth?] of modern-day folklore [that accepts

there is racism without checking the] actual fabric of the situation." It

seems to me there is a much greater array of folk today who believe and teach

that racism is a thing of the past.
