As a result, I'm sending my question to both lists. Some of our grad students are engaged in an ethnographic study of an expression, "Go Ugly Early," which is widely linked with the undergraduate social culture here at Purdue. The study began as part of a seminar on research methods organizational communication, and the assumption was that the phrase was a local one. We now suspect, however, that it also is alive and well at other campuses. I volunteered to see if I could find anyone who was familiar with it via the Internet. If you know of any regions or organizations where the phrase, "Go Ugly Early" is used, I'd very much appreciate hearing from you, and perhaps asking you a few e-mail questions. Please respond privately to my address below, since I'm not a member of the list. Thanks in advance.
