Saturday night I had dinner with a native of Asheville, NC, who told of

the culinary delights of ramps. I believe that he also said that

Asheville has a ramp festival. The proximity of Ashville to eastern

Tennessee obviously suggests a regional term; I had never before

encountered ramps here in eastern NC.
