I did an article a number of years ago on Eudora Welty's use of dialect;
thereferences llist could be useful to you (and, I'd like to think, the
article). If you would like to see a copy, let me know, and I'll send you an
offprint. However, I am leaving today for 10 days out of the country, so I
won't be able to mail it until around 25 October. If you are in a real hurry,
