I guess you could say all of what Gonzales writes is dialect so he isn't exactly an example of dialect in literature but literary dialect, or something like that. Anyway, in his introduction he evaluates a number of 19th and early 20th century examples of both writers who wrote stories entirely in dialect as well as writers who use dialects in their stories. Of course, Gonzales says some crazy things, but it might be interesting to see who he chose to evaluate.
