Perhaps this term "Going Postal" is used most by younger people. I have heard

it for some time. Although its connotation is quite serious, it is used in a

(dark) humorous sense. Since seeing it on this list I began to ask around to

see what reaction or understanding I could get from this.

From 15 year olds to 30 year olds (I asked 10 friends in all) they all

understood the term. Some had never heard it, but could instantly understand

it if I said: "Tom was so mad, I thought he'd go postal on us." No question

as to what it means. But none of us would use it without a wry smile and lilt

in our voice.
