I like Mike's answer. I speak about 7 languages. When I was in Europe,

most French and German people that didn't know me thought at first that

I too was English. I also agree that the average American can be

spotted before opening his/her mouth, as I have done it myself many

times. That is exactly what prompted me to ask my question in the first

place...
