I just talked to my father this morning. He has a visitor from Germany

staying with him. According to my dad's German guest, he was taught

how to speak English over a period of 4 years. His instructor told

him that in order to learn English he should keep in mind that Americans

have a "chewing gum" way of speaking. I had never heard that one before

and have no idea of what it means. I wonder if nasal is better than

chewing gum.
