Doesn't context matter with this, though, Natalie? I *always* use y'all as

a plural form, but I sometimes say things like, "How have y'all been,"

meaning "How have you and the other members of your family been?" I haven't



That is precisely my point. Sometimes speakers of non-y'all dialects don't

seem to understand associative y'all.
