As Alfred Rosa and someone else noted, there's also the form /labits/

from "la pizza" with intervocalic voicing of initial /p/ and elision

of the final vowel. This form is familiar in S Philly as well. It's

prpobably S Italian influence. Chris Cieri at Penn would know all

about it, but that's all I can recall just now, except that I know of

no reason to think it came from New England rather than directlky from

S. Italy.
