About a year ago (or more?) there was a report on NPR's All Things

Considered about this phenomenon. As I remember, they played tapes of

several samples. Wish I could remember the date, or even the month and

year, but maybe NPR could find it for you. There was also a discussion on

this list some time back, which you could probably retrieve from the

archives. I don't remember whether anyone cited any sources.
