I've been hearing it for a good while now -- ever since shortly after

the post-office shootings back whenever. (I hesitate to make a guess

about how long ago that was, having noticed lately that my sense of time

has become very screwed up. Several times lately I've claimed that

something was "a few months ago" only to discover that it was five years

ago. Tempus fugit.)
