Presidential Honorary Members: Nominations Invited

Every year the president of the American Dialect Society designates three students as Presidential Honorary Members. For four years, the designees receive complimentary memberships, including publications. The aim is to recognize talented newcomers and encourage them to continue in our field.

Any ADS member may nominate a student. The student may be graduate or undergraduate. No form is required, just a letter to the ADS president explaining the candidate’s merits. Attachments (like a sample paper) may be provided as appropriate. Send nominations to ADS President Joan H. Hall at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Deadline for consideration is December 1. Winners will be announced at the Annual Luncheon on Saturday, January 6. They will be notified in advance, to encourage their presence.
