Hello all!
Here is your official Linguistic Atlas Project Birthday invitation.
For those of you considering the trip to Lexington, visitlex.com has travel and hotel information. If you have any questions about that kind of thing, don’t hesitate to email me (allison.burkette@uky.edu).
The celebration starts with a look at some of the LAP holdings, on display at UK Special Collections and an open house in the new UK Atlas office. Curious about what all we have? Come check it out!
Note that the birthday celebration includes a couple of hours in the afternoon for folks to gather for a “working group” meeting. This meeting is open to anyone who uses or is interested in using LAP data for teaching and/or research purposes.
Finally, we are thrilled to have Michael Adams topping off our day with a talk on “The Atlas and the Individual: Humane Dimensions of the Linguistic Atlas Projects’ Science.”
