Hans Boas’ The Life and Death of Texas German, published by Duke University Press for the American Dialect Society, has been selected to receive the Linguistic Society of America’s (LSA) prestigious Leonard Bloomfield Book Award. First presented in 1992, the Bloomfield Award was established to recognize the volume which makes the most outstanding contribution to the development of our understanding of language and linguistics. We will be notifying our members of this award shortly, and will be highlighting the role of the ADS in the publication of this important work.
